Most of the team members of Jagruti hail from the nearby villages and many of them belong to the oppressed and marginalized communities. The issues that need to be taken up are discussed with the team and the communities through participatory discussions.

Jagruti would not be where we are now without the incalculable support that we’ve received from hundreds of volunteers over the years, who come from all over the world to help us with our social movement. We appreciate and highly welcome if you could provide your valuable time and skill to volunteer at Jagruti.
We actively seek volunteers, who would be able to help us in our project work, organise events, help raise funds, support in campaigns and participate during the emergency relief work.

For voluntary work, please note the following points:

ABOUT US

Jagruti is an independent, registered, not for profit, non government organization.
It was started in 1998 in Mangenkoppa, Belgaum District of Karnataka with the aim of organising and empowering the community, because in community lies our strength. Since then has been working with women, children and differently-abled people in Khanapur taluk of Belgaum district.
Our programs are based on activities that are woven in such a way that every activity of each intervention compliments the larger goal of creating an empowered community and self sustainable organization.

A just, secular and violence-free society through the empowerment of vulnerable groups for a life of dignity is our vision.
